Level/ Beginners and Improvers

This is a popular course suited to those who enjoy working on a small scale, mastering the beauty of engraving, creating lines and tones on a polished, end grain wood block. An introduction is given to the materials and equipment for this relief printing medium, using tools to achieve multi-textured marks, which are fine and expressive and reveal exciting results. The weekend starts with an exercise before developing ideas for a larger woodblock. By the end of the course, participants will have printed a small edition. Tuition and advice is tailored to the individual. Some preparation is advised.
