Following the success of her evening classes Jo Morley returns to the Badger Press for a weekend of lino printing on the 27th & 28th of April. Learn to cut the block, print single and multiple colours and experiment with the techniques of linocut.

Linocut is a technique with endless possibilities for experimentation and creativity. The concept of printing a lino block is simple and the results immediate and with a little practice and exploration, rich results will be produced! Generate  your own designs, learn the techniques of linocut, print single and multiple colours by hand and work the printing press to produce a numerous outcomes!

Screen Printing CMYK course 13th & 14th of April. On this 2 day course students will use 4 colour separations to screen print directly from photographs, producing images rich in colour tone and texture. Suitable for all abilities and backgrounds; from beginners to those wanting to experiment with this exciting technique, artists and graphic designers alike.

Kate Dicker’s wonderful Wood Engraving course returns to the Badger Press on the weekend of the 23rd & 24th of March. Always popular; this small-scale, relief, printmaking medium is capable of producing exquisite interpretations using the variety of engraving tools on polished, end-grain wood blocks.

Suitable for all levels. This course will introduce the techniques of wood engraving; through practical work students will be introduced to the materials and equipment before creating prints that are rich in tones, textures and graphic contrasts with the opportunity to experiment with colour. There are still a couple of places available, so if you’re interested then please get in touch to book your place!

Happy New Year from all of us at the Badger Press! We had a great end to 2012 with plenty of activity in the studio along with courses filled with happy students! Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy Christmas schedules and came along to our open studio last Saturday. It was a fantastic day; catching up with our friends, artists and meeting many new faces, enjoying printing demos along with an exhibition of our artists work. Thank you to everyone who submitted work into the exhibition, the standard was high and diverse expressing the range of processes we practice at the Badger press. We had a fantastic number of submissions, with work filling the upstairs and spilling onto the walls downstairs.

2013 has very much started for us with the first courses of our new programme in the calendar and filling up, with plenty more new and exciting opportunities coming soon!

The Badger Press will be hosting an open studio at our beautiful print workshop in Bishops Waltham on Saturday 15th Of December/ 10am-5pm. Come and join us! Pop by for a cup of tea, a slice of cake and view some of the great work our artists produce. The Badger Press studio was brimming with happy, smiling faces as we spent an exciting and energetic day entertaining the marketing department from Portsmouth University, as they spent their annual team building ‘away day’ at the Badger Press. Working with the guidance of the Badger Press team, in our friendly studio in Bishops Waltham the group spent their day learning to screen print; producing a fantastic variety of exciting results. A great day was had by all with everyone going home buzzing with the fabulous fruits of their labor!
