HerStory by Women’s Work

This, the 15th annual exhibition organised and curated by the North Hampshire group Women’s Work, will include a broad range of art by women that demonstrates narrative through its content and method. Rather than use the title as in its feminist roots, here they broaden it to show the thematic and technical breadth when things are told from a woman’s point of view.

HerStory by Women’s Work runs from Wednesday 8th June to Friday 8th July 2011 at The Link Gallery, West Downs Centre, Winchester. For more details email visualart@winchester.ac.uk Join us for a private view Friday 10th June 2011 6-8.30pm.

The selection panel includes Anne Desmet who’s worked we have featured on this site, and Francis Tinsley RE.

Once again there will be a supporting programme of events running throughout October including the ever popular Giant Print event and a heritage exhibition entitled ‘Mind your p’s and q’s’ which will highlight Margate’s historical associations with the printing industry. The theme of this years programme of talks, demonstrations and workshops will be letterpress, text and associated subjects. Pushing Print would be happy to hear from any artists, whose practise includes letterpress or text, who are interested in giving a talk, running a workshop or demonstration.
