Badger PressOpen Access Fine Art Printmaking StudioThe Hampshire Arts Office is running an Artist Development Day on Wednesday 2nd November 2011 at the Winchester Discovery Centre.
The day will consist of sessions for artists living or working in Hampshire who have been producing work professionally for at least two years and would like advice on developing their practice, making funding applications, networks etc.

Lessedra are now collecting works for their 2nd International Competition in A VERY SMALL SIZE Painting, Drawing, Collage, Photograph, Mixed Media…with respect to the quality of art not to the size of art…
If you are interested to participate please have a look at the following conditions on their site then prepare and send your works until November 10th. Works should be 15 x 15 cm or smaller = equal to 5,9 x 5,9 inches. When sending them please note no frames, no mounts, just the piece of art, in a simple package stating “No commercial value”.

Artists and makers are invited to submit proposals to undertake one of three pilot residencies at Mottisfont between October 2011 and March 2012.
The total fee for each residency is £1,400 to cover:
There is a separate budget for materials and expenses of up to £350 per residency, which can be claimed on production of receipts.
It is envisaged that the residency will take place over a one-month period between October 2011 and March 2012. However, the total number of days and the period over which the days are worked can be negotiated with each artist.

Kim English spotted these vacancies at the University of Creative Arts, Epsom Campus website. With many artists looking for work at the moment these could be relevant. The closing date for applications is next wednesday so not long, but good luck if you’re thinking of applying.

Winchester College are seeking a graduate artist for the post of Artist in Residence from September to November 2011. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and enthusiastic painter who is looking to experience some teaching, use the excellent studio facilities on offer and finally take advantage of setting up their own exhibition in November 2011, which will be open to the public.
